Case study

Designing and building the platform for Bangladesh's flagship apparel exposition

From the first Figma frame to production: the full UI/UX design, website and event platform for the Silver Jubilee edition of BATEXPO, the Bangladesh Apparel & Textile Exposition first launched in 1989. Organisers run every page, registration and schedule change themselves through a purpose-built CMS.

The challenge

BATEXPO returns in 2026 as its Silver Jubilee edition: two days of programme on 18 and 19 November at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, with a Green Factory Tour the day before. The organisers needed one site that could carry 4 exhibitions, 6 panel sessions, 50 international speakers, awards and a fashion runway, take registrations, and keep changing right up to opening day without a developer in the loop.

What we built

We started in Figma, designing the complete visual identity for the Silver Jubilee edition and every page of the site, on desktop and mobile, so the organisers signed off on the real experience before development began. Then we built it as three applications that work as one: a Next.js website, an admin panel and an Express + PostgreSQL API. Every page is assembled from reusable content sections that match the design system, so the organisers create and reorder pages, swap imagery and publish schedule changes themselves. Registrations and the Green Factory Tour application run on a built-in form builder with eligibility review, email notifications and Excel export, and every image lives in a tracked media library.
